What is a voice assistant for the body?
It is an app you talk to about your sleep, food and training. It reads what your phone or watch measures, tells you in plain words what to do today, and is meant to remember what worked for you. NomaSports is one, for iPhone. This page explains the idea, what is built, what is still in a private test, and what it is not.
Quick facts
- What it is
- An iPhone app with a Noma button in the bottom bar. Tap it to talk, or hold it and speak like a walkie-talkie.
- Status
- Not in the App Store yet. Only the founder uses it today. Nothing is sold and there is no release date.
- Own words
- Talking about food, sleep and training in ordinary words, and its memory, are in a private test, switched on only for the founder.
- Works with
- Apple Health, a watch, or just the phone. No account and no watch are needed to start.
- Voice
- You pick one of 17 voices: 10 English and 7 Russian, women’s and men’s. The voices are AI-generated (ElevenLabs).
- It is not
- A doctor, a diet plan, a menu, or a gym-only app.
What it does
In the app today. Short voice commands that the phone understands by itself: a set, a glass of water, opening a screen. Food by photo, label, barcode or words. Water and a supplement counter. Blood-test upload, with the results staying on the phone. The Body Book, which compares your own days and states a finding only when there is enough data and a clear difference. Personal experiments: one safe change for 14 days, such as no caffeine after 2 pm, compared with your own 14 days before.
In a private test, switched on only for the founder. Talking in your own words. Sessions for any activity (“going to yoga”, “playing padel”). Short notes you ask it to remember, such as a goal or an allergy. Saved products, so it does not ask about the same packet twice. Up to five photos in one conversation.
How it differs from other kinds of apps
Each kind of app is good at something. The table says what, where people say it falls short in public reviews (see our analysis of the reviews), and what NomaSports tries to do differently. Some food trackers have already added voice logging, so voice alone is not the difference. The difference we aim for is one assistant across food, sleep and training that explains itself.
| Kind of app | Good at | What reviews say is missing | What NomaSports tries to do |
|---|---|---|---|
| Calorie and food trackers | Big food databases, daily totals | Extra taps after redesigns, paywalls | Say what you ate or photograph the label |
| Workout loggers | Sets, weights and history | Redesigns, paywalls, typing on a sweaty screen | Say a set aloud as a short command; in the private test, in ordinary words |
| Wearable apps | Measuring sleep, heart rate, recovery | Scores without reasons, a score that disagrees with how you feel | Tell you in plain words what to do today; with less data it says less instead of guessing |
| General chatbots | Answering almost any question | May know only what you type | Work from your phone’s data and remember short notes you ask it to keep (private test) |
| A human coach | Technique, accountability, judgement | Not there between visits | It does not replace a coach. It is there between visits |
Why people might use one
- Hands are busy. Between sets, on a run or in the kitchen, speaking is faster than typing.
- You want a reason, not only a number. Wearable reviews ask for exactly that. NomaSports tells you in plain words what to do today.
- You train in more than one way. The gym is one case of load. Running, court sports, swimming, yoga, cycling and walking count the same way.
- You want to decide when it listens. The microphone is off by default.
When it is not the right tool
If you need a diagnosis, treatment advice, or a medical decision, see a doctor. NomaSports does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and if you mention pain, an injury or medication it gives no advice on it. If you want a fixed diet or menu, this is not that either. If you want someone to correct your technique in person, you need a coach. And it is iPhone only.
What we do not claim
We do not say NomaSports is better than other apps. It is not released, and only the founder uses it today. We say what it is built to do and where it stops, and we publish the limits. No results are promised.
Questions and answers
What is a voice assistant for the body?
It is an app you talk to about your sleep, food and training. It reads what your phone or watch measures, tells you in plain words what to do today and is meant to remember what worked for you (memory is in the private test). NomaSports is one, for iPhone. It is not in the App Store yet.
How is it different from a fitness tracker?
A basic tracker measures and shows numbers. A voice assistant is meant to explain what the numbers mean and what to do today, and to let you log by speaking. NomaSports works with Apple Health, a watch or just the phone, and says less when it has less data.
How is it different from ChatGPT or another chatbot?
A general chatbot may know only what you type. NomaSports is built around your phone’s data (sleep, movement, food, training) and, in the private test, remembers short notes you ask it to keep, such as a goal or an allergy.
Is NomaSports a doctor or a diet plan?
No. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and it is not a menu or a diet plan. If you mention pain, an injury or medication, it gives no advice on it.
Is NomaSports available?
Not yet. The app is not in the App Store, nothing is sold, there are no prices and there is no release date. You can leave your email on the home page to hear when it opens.
